Do you look in the mirror and wish you could change your smile? Do you want it to look better or be more healthy? If you have missing teeth or other dental health issues going on, restorative dentistry can help you.
Tooth fillings are needed when decay has led to the development of a cavity, or small hole, in your tooth. Your doctor will remove all areas of decay and replace the area with a resin material made to perfectly match your tooth color. These are best done while still small to preserve tooth structure and strength.
Crowns are needed when you have a tooth that is chipped, cracked, badly decayed or otherwise weakened and the structure of the tooth is compromised if only filling material is used. A bridge is several crowns hooked together and one of the techniques to replace a missing tooth. Alternatives to dental crowns are needed for teeth that are badly decayed or fvractured. Teeth may need extractions, whereas bridges and implants are viable alternatives to replace them.
Dental bonding is done most often to change the shape, shade, or appearance of front teeth. It uses the same esthetic material as tooth fillings, and your doctor hand-crafts fillings to the new specifications. An alternative to this would be porcelain veneers, which are done for the same purpose but made by a lab or milled in-house and bonded in after they are finished and polished.
When teeth are chipped or broken, depending on the severity of the missing tooth structure, they can often be repaired by a tooth filling.
You may need a root canal if bacteria has gained access to the pulp of your tooth. This is the center of your tooth that houses the blood supply and nerves. This can happen due to a fracture or deep cavity and the pulp can become infected leading to pain and risk of tooth loss.
During a root canal, the pulp of the tooth is removed and replaced with material to seal the tooth all the way to the tip of the root. The tooth then needs to be covered with a protective crown to reinforce it against future fractures and also idealize its appearance, shape, and form. Root canals have a very high percent of success over many years in saving teeth that otherwise would be lost to infection.
The alternative to root canals is tooth extraction.

Thank you James PikeAugust 7, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great visit with Dr. Rucinski and Deb. I had a crown put on a broken tooth. Dr. Rucinski was very honest about my options for the tooth. The procedure was well executed with no pain. For that I was grateful! The very latest in technology was used. Both had pleasant personalities and senses of humor. I will not hesitate to return or recommend them. After over 40 years of Dr C. I feel good knowing I will be in good hands for the upcoming years.
